OE Utility Services
Repositioning an Evolving Company
OE Utility Services (formerly Ontario Excavac) has been expanding its services to support underground utilities for the past seven years. No longer just a leading hydro excavation company, OE has become a full-solution partner to utilities, construction, and engineering customers. The former name no longer reflected the company it is today. A courageous CEO, Barry Wood, decided to take the leap by renaming and rebranding the company.
As part of the strategic planning process, I helped OE clearly articulate their positioning in the marketplace and their value proposition for customers. Working with David Thorne, a leading graphic designer, I wrote a strategic creative brief to springboard David’s work on a new logo and visual identity to reflect OE’s new brand.
Once the visual identity was in place, David and I worked on developing a modern, streamlined website to showcase the benefits of working with OE over the competition. We also managed the rebranding of a large livery, internal stationery, created digital ads and a new conference booth to help launch the brand to the industry.
